2. Eligibility

2.1 Eligible Participants

The competition is open to solo artists, duos, bands, rappers, vocal groups, and similar musical acts worldwide, subject to regional assignment by YUME.

2.2 Unsigned Artist Requirement

Except where YUME expressly approves otherwise in writing, entrants must not be under an exclusive major-label recording agreement that would prevent lawful submission, competition participation, or exploitation of submitted materials for the purposes described in the competition documents.

2.3 Age and Minor Participation

Participants who are under the age of majority in their place of residence, or under eighteen (18) where no lower lawful threshold applies, must have a parent or legal guardian complete and deliver the required consent documentation before submission may be accepted.

2.4 Regional Assignment

YUME may assign, verify, or reassign a participant's competition region based on residence, citizenship, nationality, audience-development strategy, language, travel feasibility, legal constraints, or other operational factors.

3. Submission Requirements

During the official submission period, artists must complete registration and submit all required materials through the YUME artist portal or any official submission interface designated by YUME.

  • One original sound recording in MP3 format
  • One lyric document in PDF or other accepted format
  • One live audition video in an accepted video format
  • Artist profile information
  • Authorship and ownership information
  • All mandatory legal acknowledgments

All submissions must be original, lawfully controlled by the participant, and capable of being publicly exploited by the participant and YUME in the limited ways described in the governing documents.

4. Competition Structure and Scoring

The competition includes an Artist Acquisition and Submission Period, a screening and approval process, an Online Heat, finalist selection, and the Global Finals.

The Online Heat scoring model currently weights Fan Engagement at forty percent (40%), A&R Panel Evaluation at forty percent (40%), and Audience Authenticity Score at twenty percent (20%). YUME may refine, audit, or operationalize the scoring methodology to preserve fairness, prevent fraud, and protect the integrity of the competition.

5. Fan Activity, Verification, and Anti-Fraud

Only activity verified by YUME's systems or authorized service providers may count for competition purposes. YUME may exclude or adjust activity generated by bots, scripts, fake accounts, purchased traffic, click farms, coordinated manipulation, or any other activity deemed inauthentic or unfair.

YUME may impose validation thresholds, rate limits, replay limits, unique-listener rules, or other controls without prior notice where reasonably necessary to protect competition integrity.

6. Rights Granted to YUME

By entering, each participant grants YUME the licenses and permissions described in the Artist Agreement, Music Licensing Rights Agreement, Media and Broadcasting Rights Release, and related documents incorporated herein.

These rights include, at minimum, the right to host, review, reproduce, display, stream, excerpt, market, and promote submitted materials and participant likenesses for competition administration, publicity, distribution support, and related operational purposes, subject to the limits stated in the applicable agreement.

7. Disqualification and Enforcement

YUME may reject, suspend, restrict, or disqualify any participant for ineligibility, incomplete documentation, rights-clearance problems, fraudulent or abusive conduct, rule violations, unsafe behavior, reputational harm, or non-compliance with any UNFILTERED document.

YUME's decisions on screening, approval, scoring integrity, and disqualification are final except where mandatory law requires otherwise.

8. Travel, Event Participation, and Production Changes

Confirmed finalists will receive all-expense-paid travel support, including air travel, land transportation, and accommodations, in accordance with YUME's official travel and production schedule. Finalists remain responsible for timely submission of passport, visa, tax, identity-verification, and other legally required documentation. YUME reserves the right to manage, book, revise, or reasonably substitute travel and lodging arrangements based on production, safety, legal, or operational requirements.

YUME may change schedules, venues, judges, production format, event dates, performance requirements, or competition mechanics where operationally, commercially, legally, or safety-wise necessary.

9. Liability Limitations and Indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by law, YUME and its affiliates, sponsors, partners, licensors, service providers, officers, employees, contractors, judges, and agents shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of the competition or use of the website or platform.

Each participant agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the foregoing parties from third-party claims arising out of submitted content, rights disputes, participant misconduct, inaccurate representations, or breach of the governing documents.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except to the extent mandatory local consumer, labor, child-protection, privacy, or competition laws apply.

Dispute resolution shall be governed by the separate Arbitration Clause, which is incorporated by reference.

11. Modification and Priority of Documents

YUME may revise these Terms and Conditions at any time by posting an updated version on the official competition website or portal. Material updates may be communicated by reasonable electronic notice where feasible.
